Didcot Sixth Form Students Receive Best Ever A Level Results

    Posted on: 14/08/2025

We are immensely proud of the students of Didcot Sixth Form for their commitment, resilience, and ambition throughout their A Level studies.

Their hard work has been rewarded with excellent results this summer, the strongest we have seen since the return of in-person exams and the best in our history outside the exceptional grading of the pandemic years. These achievements reflect not only academic ability but also the determination and character of a remarkable cohort, and will enable them to move forward with confidence into their chosen next steps.

In summary, for the 190 students who completed their A level studies this year:

    • 13% of all entries gained A* grades
    • 35% of all entries gained A*-A grades
    • 65% of all entries gained A*-B grades
    • 99% of all entries gained A*-E grades

    We are particularly pleased that:

    • 35 students (around a fifth of our cohort) have achieved straight As and A*s
    • 35% of all A Levels were awarded A or A* grades
    • 94% of our 147 university applicants have secured a place at their preferred institution
    • 3 students are taking up highly sought-after degree apprenticeships
    • 3 Didcot Sixth Form students are going on to study at Oxford or Cambridge
    • 5 Didcot Sixth Form students achieved a place at medical school

James Cross, Director of Didcot Sixth Form, said:

“We are enormously proud of our Year 13 students. From the outset, they have been an exceptional year group, marked by their determination, resilience, and strong work ethic. Just as striking has been the care and encouragement they have shown each other, alongside the leadership they have demonstrated within our school community. They leave behind a legacy of leadership and kindness that will be felt for years to come, and we have every confidence that each of them will thrive in the diverse paths they are now embarking upon.”

Rachael Warwick, CEO of Ridgeway Education Trust, which includes Didcot Sixth Form, said:

“I am delighted for our students who have achieved much-deserved success in this summer’s examinations. These are best-ever results for our high performing sixth form, before and since the pandemic, and are the result of much resilience, hard work and dedication. All of our young people should be extremely proud of what they have achieved. As ever, my thanks go to the teachers and support staff who have gone above and beyond to teach, support and guide this cohort of impressive young people. They have bright futures ahead of them. Congratulations!”
