Headline Commentary

The 2024 A-Level results continue to affirm Didcot Sixth Form’s position as one of Oxfordshire’s top-performing post-16 institutions. For the third year running, the sixth form has remained firmly in the top three state institutions across the county.

This year’s outcomes demonstrate strength in depth across a large and growing cohort of 204 students. Although the overall Average Point Score (APS) has seen a small reduction to 38.03, it remains well above 2019 and 2018 levels, indicating that post-Covid gains have been securely embedded.

The A*-C pass rate of 85% is a strong indicator of success and compares favourably with local and national benchmarks. Moreover, an excellent Level 3 Value Added (L3VA) score of +0.15 confirms that students on average made significantly more progress than expected from their starting points.
