Year 12 Geography Study Day

On Wednesday this week, the Geography department took a group of year 12 students to visit Oxford University Department of Geography and the Environment for a day of lectures and workshops on a range of different topics and subjects in Geography. The day was held at the Oxford Museum of Natural History and students were given opportunities to learn from experts in their field about topics ranging from climate change, to weathering in hot deserts and even an interesting session about mass extinctions and considering the ethical considerations of potentially bringing back the Mammoth.
It was a really interesting and informative day which gave us the opportunity to learn about cutting edge geographical thinking about the topics we study in lessons!
